Drug Free Policy

 

The ReCenter Foundation is committed to providing a safe living environment and to promoting and protecting the health, safety, and wellbeing of our Residents and the community.  This commitment is jeopardized when any Foundation Resident engages in use, possession, sale, conveyance, distribution or manufacture of illegal drugs, intoxicants, controlled substances or abuses prescription drugs or alcohol. Substance abuse aftercare is a significant service provided by The ReCenter Foundation and all efforts will be applied to helping those coming out of rehab or those who struggle with addiction.  Substance abuse is a public health problem, which has a detrimental effect on the community in terms of parental care, child neglect, accidents, medical costs, theft, and incarceration costs.  Therefore, The ReCenter Foundation has established the following policy:

  • It is a violation of The ReCenter Foundation policy for any Resident to use, possess, sell, convey, distribute, or manufacture illegal drugs, intoxicants, or controlled substances, or to attempt to do the same.
  • It is a violation of The ReCenter Foundation policy to use or be under the influence of alcohol anytime during their stay or use of Foundation property.
  • It is a violation of The ReCenter Foundation policy for anyone to use prescription drugs illegally. It is the responsibility of the Resident to report the use of prescribed drugs, that MAY (per warning labels provided by the pharmacy) affects the Resident’s judgment, performance, or behavior.

 

The ReCenter Foundation values its Residents and recognizes the need for a spiritual and balanced approach to helping them achieve a sustained, drug free life.  Our comprehensive program includes the following components:

  • Residents of The ReCenter Foundation, can be subject to drug and/or alcohol tests at any time during their stay. Any staff member, with the authorization of the Directors, can administer these tests. if the test(s) are positive for drugs other than prescriptions allowed, the Residents will be subject to a $35 charge to cover the expense of each test. Should a Resident contest any positive result, all laboratory fees will be paid upfront by the Resident.
  • Resident at The ReCenter Foundation are subject to search of their personal belongings upon acceptance into the facility or at any time thereafter. Should drugs, drug paraphernalia, or any other contraband be found on their body or in their possession, said item(s) will be confiscated and appropriate legal action will be taken by The ReCenter Foundation, its owners, or agents.
  • Violations of this policy are subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination and expulsion from the facility.

 

The ReCenter Foundation drug free residence policy is intended to comply with all state laws governing drug and alcohol testing and is designed to safeguard Resident privacy rights to the fullest extent of the law.
